The Love Dare

For those of you that Jason has not told yet, he was saved on Jan 5th. This was such a blessing. We have found a great church and it really has helped up start our new journey in our marriage. The Love Dare is from the movie "FireProof", it comes out on video 1/27 I believe. I heard about it when it was out in the theaters but we have yet to see it. When I was at the Family Christian book store looking for a daily devotional for Jason and I...the lady in the store told me about the "Love Dare". It is a 40 day devotional experience to learn more about how to love your spouse based on the scriptures. Each day comes with a dare to help understand the scriptures and the meaning behind them.

Day 1: Patience
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
—Ephesians 4:2 NIV
Something Jason and I have very little of is patience. The first part of this dare is pretty simple. It talks about how our words often reflect the condition of our heart. It is better to walk away then to say what you are thinking at the time because it could be hurtful when in anger. So far, which we haven't gotten home from work yet, but we have done very well. There has been a little reminder here and there for the both of us but I feel we have done very well with this challenge today. Now, applying this as we go on with the other dares will probably be the most challenging. I might have to respond back to "patience" at one point of the 40 days.
Well, work is starting so I guess I better get to it. Since I am not sure what the Love Dare will hold for Jason and I...please keep us in your prayers as we start this new journey. Also that when it is the Lord's plan...to bless us with that baby we are working towards. :)

Praise the Lord!! That is great news. Josh and I were actually saved together in 2007. And I wanted to say that patience is something that we need to work on too. I wish you and Jason the best :-)
